Tacticos aims to provide high-quality, tested guidelines for designing and producing motivating and engaging tactile books and illustrations. It is a three-year Erasmus+ project that brings together experts from specialist organizations in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
The team members from Visio are Anneke Blok, Yvonne van der Does-van Vinkenstein, Brenda Zwijnenburg, Aukje Snijders and Biljana Volchevska. The team is supported by two external advisors: Bob Marek (Hungry Fingers, Poland) and Ann Conefrey (a designer specializing in tactile graphic design).
The project brings together visual-impairment professionals and producers of materials for people with visual impairments. The team will seek smarter, more creative, and cost-effective ways to produce tactile illustrated books. It will develop guidelines for producing and using such materials and their relation to various learning needs. The guidelines will also explore techniques to simplify and reduce the cost of design and production.
