Promoting expertise

Visio welcomes anyone with questions about being partially sighted or blind. Visio provides information and advice as well as different services related to research, counselling, rehabilitation, education and living. These services are for partially sighted or blind people, also if these people suffer from intellectual, physical or sensory disabilities. People who are personally or professionally involved with partially sighted or blind people can also turn to Visio for information and professional development.

Training and courses

Visio regularly organises courses for professionals, such as teachers, counsellors and optometrists. For example, you can participate in:

• Prep training for various courses
• Study days in the Leiden University Medical Center
• Presentations for management teams and staff members of various care facilities
• Training sessions for the staff of senior care centres and facilities for the mentally disabled
• Symposiums for professional groups, such as occupational physicians and optometrists
