Visio International
Visio International shares and exchanges knowledge and expertise on visual impairments with people and organizations in other countries. Visio International is part of the Knowledge & Expertise Department of Royal Dutch Visio.
We have learned a lot about how to promote inclusivity and self-sufficiency for people with a visual impairment. Visio International gives us the opportunity to share this expertise with others outside the Netherlands.
We aim to maximize our impact by fostering programmes in low- and middle-income countries as part of our commitment to social responsibility and in accordance with Article 32 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Our international work benefits people in the Netherlands too. We collaborate closely with other organizations in Europe and elsewhere that serve people who are blind or visually impaired.
Working abroad gives Visio staff the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills with people and organizations in other countries. Our staff in turn gain experience and insights that they can apply in their work at home in the Netherlands. We contribute to or manage joint European projects that focus on innovation, enabling us to stay at the forefront of advances in the field of visual impairment. The knowledge gained and approaches developed can often be applied directly (or with relatively little adaptation) to our work in the Netherlands.
