Accessibility
Private and public buildings are designed for and by people. Factors that affect the design are user requirements, costs and look.
At times, this is fine and adequate. But when it concerns the requirements of certain users, the design is not always well-thought out. Take for example sudden transitions from pavement to steps, fixed obstacles in the middle of pedestrian areas, spaces with excessive sound resonance, illogical routes. This is difficult for people with a visual disability.
