Current projects

Our current projects focus on developing educational materials for persons who are blind or visually impaired, and research on functional vision and glaucoma.

We collaborate with national organizations for the blind and visually impaired, non-government organizations, private companies, universities and schools in the European Union, elsewhere in Europe, and in Australia and the USA.

OpTivisT

OptiVisT is a European research training programme in translational vision science to ensure optimal support of visually impaired individuals through inclusive tests and tools for testing, training and augmenting Functional Vision.

Tacticos

Tacticos aims to provide high-quality, tested guidelines for designing and producing motivating and engaging tactile books and illustrations.

Touching maths+

Touching Maths+ aims to develop an extended mathematics core curriculum for braille readers, enabling them to achieve the same academic goals in learning mathematics as their sighted peers.
