Do you remember 2023? VisioFoundation and Koninklijke Visio, together with filmmaker Mohanad Diab, launched the series Tales of People with a Visual Impairment. This series follows children, young people, and (young) adults with visual impairments in Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, Uganda, the West Bank, South Africa, and the Netherlands. Their stories highlight the challenges they face and how they actively participate in society.
The main film, The Light in My Eyes, has made a strong impact at film festivals worldwide over the past two years, winning several awards. Now, this inspiring documentary is finally available on the YouTube channel of Koninklijke Visio!
The key message in these films? People with a visual impairment do not want to be seen as pitiful or as heroes—they simply want to participate as equals.
Be inspired by the strength, resilience, and positivity of Priscilla, Junior, Claire, Shareehan, Omar, Ohnenkosi, and Micky. Watch it now on the Visio International playlist and help share their story!
